Italy is one of the most important transatlantic aviation markets for the United States, with the two countries sharing close historical and cultural ties. As such, there are many different air routes that connect the two nations, with a new one having commenced recently when United Airlines operated its first flight between Denver and Rome. Its aircraft of choice was the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner twinjet.
This month, data made available by Cirium, an aviation analytics company, shows that a grand total of 2,748 non-stop or one-stop flights are scheduled between Italy and the US. Collectively speaking, these services offer 734,311 seats and 3,388,276,884 available seat miles (ASMs), with capacity up by more than 10% across all metrics compared to May 2024. Let's examine the top airlines.
