IAOVC is asking all Italian American Defenders & Organizations to speak out with ONE United VOICE on Thursday, February 13, 2014 from 9:00 am until 4:00 pm ET
AFLAC will not remove stereotypical commercial "Family Business," which portrays Italian Americans as mobsters. They will not acknowledge that these commercials are about Italian Americans and refuse to meet with ANY Italian American organization.
ONE VOICE is asking individuals and organizations to contact:
AFLAC media director Laura Kane at 706 596-3493 lkane@aflac.com
and Executive Vice President, Chief Marketing Officer, Aflac U.S.
Michael Zuna at 706 302-2592. mzuna@aflac.com

REMEMBER TO BE FORCEFUL AND, ABOVE ALL, POLITE
· Tell them ... This negative ad is unacceptable to Italian Americans and should be removed immediately. Its intent is to ridicule Italian Americans and we demand an apology to the Italian American community.
· Tell them ... The "Family Business," commercial has an accordion and mandolins playing Italian background music in a commercial starring Hollywood bad guy Frank Vincent of Goodfellas and Sopranos fame have made it crystal clear they are Italian Americans.
· Ask them if AFLAC would have treated another ethnic group this way?
We have been patient long enough.
"If it were any other nationality, it would be called bigotry, but when it involves Italian Americans, it is all good fun and we are told to 'lighten up.' This commercial insults Italian Americans and promotes the idea that mob imagery is acceptable." Manny
