The IAS is pleased to announce that the Samuel H. Kress Foundation has generously granted us $5,000 to share with the winners of the IAS/Kress Travel grant awarded to individuals with a Ph.D. conducting transoceanic travel to present in an IAS session.

To date, the 2014 award winners ($1500 each) are Emily Fenichel (Florida Atlantic University) for "Beyond the spirituali: Vittoria Colonna, Michelangelo, and Meditation" and Marjorie Och (University of Mary Washington), for "Colonna and Michelangelo on the Quirinal". They will both be speaking in the Renaissance Society of America conference in Berlin in 2015 in the IAS-sponsored session "Vittoria Colonna and Michelangelo: A Broader Vision" (Chair: Bernadine Barnes,Wake Forrest University; Organizer: Tiffany Lynn Hunt, Temple University).

Please note that the grant from the Kress Foundation will allow us still to offer partial funding (up to $1000) to individuals who might be conducting transoceanic travel to present in IAS sessions at the American Association of Italian Studies conference (March 2015) or the Sixteenth-Century Studies Conference (October 2015). The deadline for an application to be considered is Jan. 30, 2015 for AAIS and May 20, 2015 for SCSC.
