Italian American Dan Bongino appointed deputy director of the FBI

Italian American commentator and ex-Secret Service agent Dan Bongino has been named deputy director of the FBI, President Trump announced Sunday night. Dan Bongino was born and raised in Queens, NYC. His mother was an Italian American, and his father was half Italian and half Jamaican. He  considers himself to be Italian American as that's how he was raised and that he's almost all Italian because he's 75% Italian. 

He graduated from Archbishop Molloy High School, a Catholic all-male high school in Jamaica, Queens. He attended Queens College, earning bachelor's and master's degrees in psychology. He also earned a Master of Business Administration degree from Pennsylvania State University. He is married and has two daughters. 

“Great news for Law Enforcement and American Justice! Dan Bongino, a man of incredible love and passion for our Country, has just been named the next DEPUTY DIRECTOR OF THE FBI, by the man who will be the best ever Director, Kash Patel,” the president posted on Truth Social.

Bongino, 49, served on the presidential details for then-Presidents Barack Obama and George W. Bush, before becoming a popular right-wing figure. Bongino worked for the New York Police Department from 1997 through 1999, before joining the Secret Service. He began doing commentary on Fox News more than a decade ago, and had a Saturday night show with the network from 2021 to 2023. He is now a host of The Dan Bongino Show, one of the most popular podcasts, according to Spotify.
