Italian Leonardo Finmeccanica has signed a $417-million deal to supply combat control and sonar systems hardware for the submarines of the US Navy and its allies. The indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract will encompass design, fabrication, trials, integration, spares, and support for the company’s proprietary TI-26 hardware suite.
The TI-26 is a family of display, processor, and network systems under continuous development to match evolving underwater mission requirements. It is specifically designed to support the US Department of Defense’s Submarine Warfare Federated Tactical Systems required for installation aboard America’s submarines.
