Minister of Economy and Finance Pier Carlo Padoan wrapped up a U.S. "road show" yesterday aimed at courting influential American and global investors, and listening to their concerns. The Minister held two days of closed door meetings with executives from about 20 top firms, including Citigroup, BlackRock, TPG Capital, Berkshire Hathaway, Goldman Sachs, Blackstone and Norges Bank Investment.
The one-on-one meetings, lasting about an hour each, involved some companies that already invest in Italy and others that don't - yet. The response was said to be encouraging, with investors acknowledging efforts towards reform in Italy since the Minister's round of similar meetings a year ago.
