I lost a dear friend, Angelo Monaco. He was a WWII veteran who received 3 Purple Hearts, 2 Bronze Stars and the French Medal Legion of Honor. Angelo had accompanied me on TV and at public presentations for my video, JUST A COMMON SOLDIER. As of this date, this video has been viewed over 23,400,000 times.
We will forever be grateful for Angelo's sacrifice on D-Day in the first wave of the battle on Omaha Beach in Normandy. Angelo left a loving family and made it possible for all of us to live free. My wife, Alyse, and I loved him very much, and his love in return greatly warmed our hearts. Rest In Peace, my dear friend.
