Margie Raimondo’s first documentary, The Soul of Sicily, won The Best Short Film or Documentary at The Taste Awards. Raimondo is an author, chef, filmmaker and farmer focused on preservation and agriculture. The documentary was born out of her desire to shine a light on farmers who are at the heart of the food industry.
On Feb. 1 The Taste Awards pre-announced winners in a Facebook post, just in time for its 14th year. “This has been a fantastic year. We are amazed by the level of quality in this year’s entries, as well as scope and range of the diversity of the award winners in terms of gender, ethnicity, geography, organization size and topics,” a Taste Awards spokesperson said.
