Rep. Tim Ryan apologized Friday after using the term "dago red wine" in a televised MSNBC interview earlier this week.

Ryan and host Chris Matthews were discussing his unsuccessful effort to unseat House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi when he used the derogatory term for Italians as he described class differences among Democrats.
