Stanley Tucci, the A-list actor and host of the hit TV show Searching for Italy, is set to star in a new TV spy thriller, Citadel, which is being developed and produced by Joe and Anthony Russo (the directors behind Avengers: Endgame). The ambitious project, bankrolled by Amazon Studios, will follow an unprecedented production concept, where multiple Citadel shows will be crafted around the world and concurrently aired alongside the U.S. version.
For instance, there will be Citadel: Italy and Citadel: India, among others, that will feature locales, languages and actors from those respective countries. The details of the show are still under wraps, but Tucci will star in all seven episodes of season 1. Filming on the U.S. version wrapped in June, and Citadel will air on Amazon Prime Video. A release date has not been announced, but it will reportedly premiere later this year.
