Comic Matteo Lane’s philosophy about live shows is simple: “jokes, jokes and the telling of a ton of jokes.” “My stand-up is not me talking about traumatic moments,” he said. “It’s me catching up with what’s happened in the last year — like we were talking over brunch. I work really hard on making my show as natural as possible. We have enough (expletive) happening in the world.
I want to produce a one-hour show where my fans can sit with their friends and giggle.” Lane will perform at 7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 22, at the Orpheum in Phoenix. Lane is a New York-based comedian whose stand-up special can be seen on Netflix’s “The Comedy Lineup.”
