Comic Mike Marino, a.k.a. “New Jersey’s Bad Boy,” is scheduled to perform in Surflight Theatre’s big top at 8:30 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 9 – provided the big top damaged by Tropical Storm Isaias is fixed. Marino has appeared at Surflight many times over the years. That makes sense considering he can skewer New Jersey and Italians without fear of the politically correct crowd, considering he was born in Jersey City and is of Italian heritage.
Many visitors to LBI come from northern New Jersey and are of Italian heritage, so Surflight is a natural pod for this pea. The comedian has titled his current tour “Mike Marino – Unmasked,” so it’s impossible to know precisely what new schtick will be the base of his show. But previous tours and performances, such as “Make America Italian Again” and “Italian Family Feud,” have never strayed far from the New Jersey/Italian theme.
