The Italian Cultural Institute of Washington invites you to “Piatti all’Opera”. Join us at Bold Fork Books (3064 Mt. Pleasant St, NW. Washington DC) on November 19, 2024, at 7 PM, as Chef Rita Monastero explores how we can trace the evolution of Italian cuisine through the opera. Registration is required for this event, for a fee.
Exploring the works of Puccini, Verdi, Rossini, Mascagni, she weaves their paths with that of Pellegrino Artusi, illustrious Italian cook and writer, who published several of the recipes beloved by these composers. We will also discover more about their cooks, their partners and the most famous interpreters of their music, such as Maria Callas, and how they contributed to the creation and circulation of several dishes.
