There is a list of things an incoming freshman has to deal with when preparing to leave home and head off to college, especially if they have to travel several hours to a remote corner of the world to do so. Typically for incoming Michigan Tech students and student athletes, that list does not include learning English.
For incoming freshman volleyball player Laura DeMarchi, learning the language that is native to her teammates is just another box on that list she has had to check off as she prepares for her first season as a member of the Huskies.
