Boston Red Sox rookie outfielder Roman Anthony made his Major League debut this week during a series against the Tampa Bay Rays. His family went viral after he recorded his first hit on Tuesday night. That hit was a two-run double that proved to be the difference in a 3-1 win. Family members were seen cheering him on from their seats near the Red Sox dugout.
Anthony was the top minor league prospect in baseball prior to being called up. He hit .288 in Triple-A this year to go along with 10 home runs across 58 games. He joined the Boston roster on Monday, going 0-for-4 with an RBI in his first appearance. On Tuesday, he officially introduced himself to MLB viewers.
