In the NFL, Some of the all-time greats have been Italian-American. Vince Lombardi, the namesake for the NFL's Super Bowl trophy, Joe Montana, who won four Super Bowls with the San Francisco 49ers, Dan Marino, who led the Miami Dolphins to the playoffs 10 times in his 17 year career, and Vinny Testaverde, a Heisman trophy winner who holds the NFL record for the most consecutive seasons with at least one touchdown pass.
Now a big deal is being made about New England Patriots backup quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo and some people in the media are already referring to him as the 'Italian Stallion.' Garoppolo continued his fine preseason play during Friday night's road game against the Carolina Panthers at Bank of America Stadium.
