What do you get when you combine the age-old, All-American sport of baseball and the deeply-rooted Italian-American heritage? The Italian Heritage Night at a FerryHawks game on Saturday, Aug. 9 in St. George, Staten Island, of course! Throughout the years the combination of baseball and the Italian heritage has manifested itself in myriad ways.
Cultural celebrations and time-honored projects that pay homage to Italian-American contributions to the sport have always contributed to strengthening the bond between the two cultures through their shared love of the game.
