Saturday, May 10th, 3:00 pm - 151 Mulberry Street, New York, NY. A live musical performance featuring Italian and Neapolitan Music. The Italian American Museum is proud to present an unforgettable afternoon of music with acclaimed vocalist, composer, and global musical innovator Simona De Rosa, joined by celebrated Neapolitan guitarist Gennaro Esposito.
Hailing from Napoli, Simona De Rosa has captivated audiences around the world with her crystalline voice, refined musicianship, and deeply emotional performances. Her musical journey has taken her across continents – from New York to Vietnam, Beijing to Spain, South America, Kazakhstan, infusing her sound with the rich traditions and colors of many cultures while staying rooted in the timeless soul of her hometown.
In this special concert, Simona brings the spirit of Napoli to New York City, blending traditional Neapolitan songs with jazz, world influences, and her own unique artistry. She is joined on stage by Gennaro Esposito, a fellow Neapolitan and longtime musical partner based in New York. The two artists first collaborated over a decade ago in the recording of My Travel, an evocative album celebrating the beauty and depth of Neapolitan music.
Together, Simona and Gennaro offer a musical experience that is both nostalgic and fresh revisiting the past with reverence, while reimagining it with creativity and passion. Their performance promises an intimate and moving journey through songs that echo with history, emotion, and a profound sense of home.
