WHAT: Rocky Romano Bocce Tournament - WHEN: Saturday, Aug. 10. Court assignments at 9 a.m.; event starts at 10 a.m. - WHERE: 27 Bridge St., Hudson
DETAILS: Annual Rocky Romano Bocce Tournament features rolling and ricocheting bocce balls and plenty of trash-talking. For many Italian-Americans, bocce represents a reminder of days gone by and a way to continue celebrating their heritage. Bocce, pronounced casually as bot-chi, can be traced to ancient Egypt and the Roman Empire. Bocce developed into its current form in Italy and is played throughout the world, particularly where Italians have immigrated.
