Halfway through "The Light in the Piazza," the gorgeously realized musical now on the boards at the Merry-Go-Round Playhouse, a sophisticated Florentine woman reminds us that "Risk is everything. Without risk, there is no drama." She is talking about affairs of the heart, but she can also mean affairs of art.
"The Light in the Piazza," while offering some whipped cream-topped moments, is at it own heart a serious and challenging piece of theater that invites a second helping.
