Organizers plan for the tournament to become an annual event. It'll begin open on July 27. Opening-round games also are planned in the Phoenix area, San Francisco and Indianapolis, with the semifinals in the New York and Los Angeles areas Aug. 3-4.
The final four games in Miami will determine the champion and third, fifth and seventh place.
The Final is scheduled for August 7 at the Sun Life Stadium in South Florida.
ESPN FC reports that that the tournament already has a title sponsor and that television coverage is planned for 151 countries.
If you're an American and a fan of the beautiful game, this should be great news.
