I just came back from a couple of very intense weeks in the US, between New York, New Jersey, Ohio and Illinois. I've met several beautiful friends in the Italian American community, I've attended important events, I've had very positive feedbacks about what We the Italians is doing and wants to do in the future.

It has been an incredible journey. After New York and New Jersey, about which I spoke in the last editorial, I flew to Cleveland to visit the wonderful John Carroll University and its study in Italy program. Our magazine's new column "Studying (in) Italy" is written by two of their students, and I have been able to meet their wonderful professors in Cleveland: Santa Casciani, Serena Scaiola and Luigi Ferri.

Then I flew to Chicago. In my first day there, I had the privilege to meet with Paul Basile, who I interviewed a few months ago. With Paul I talked about the possibility of a cooperation between Fra Noi, the prestigious magazine in the Chicago area, and We the Italians; and he showed me the amazing Italian American War Veterans Museum, a fantastic project where I was able to pay my respect to the sacrifices of many Italians who served in all the American wars. My heart went to those who saved my father during the second world war: I'll always be grateful to them.

In the same day I went to Taylor Street, Chicago's Little Italy, where I visited the marvelous National Italian American Sports Hall of Fame: it is amazing to see memorabilia celebrating the several Italian champions in many different sports.

The next day, We the Italians was part of the Italian Expo at Bridgeport Art Center: an excellent event organized by the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Chicago, where I was happy to meet my friend Mauro Galli, President of the Chamber, together with many Italian companies representing wonderful excellences from Tuscany, Sicilia, Lazio and Umbria. I truly think that the Italian Chambers of Commerce, either in Italy and abroad, are an irreplaceable factor of promotion for the millions of Italian producers, makers of our beloved Made in Italy products.

Last but not least, our partner Alessio Gambino attended on our behalf at the NIAF Gala dinner in Washington DC, representing We the Italians and paying respect to our friends at NIAF. All these events, the people who appreciate We the Italians, confirmed me that we're headed in the right direction: and more good news are coming soon.

That's all for now. So stay tuned, fasten your seat belt and enjoy the ride. The future's so bright, we gotta wear shades!
