We the Italians would like to wish you a Happy Easter! Spring has come, Italy is beautiful, and herein Italy everybody's thinking about how and where to spend this holiday. The motto here is "Natale con i tuoi, Pasqua con chi vuoi" (Christmas you're your family, Easter with whoever you want), but rest assured that the Italian tradition wants the family to stick together as long as we can.
Maybe we'll go visit some of the Italian excellences We the Italians is telling you about in this issue: an art exhibition in Emilia Romagna? Traces of the Roman empire in Friuli Venezia Giulia? An orange tasting in Sicily? The gardens of Villa d'Este in Lazio? The handmade bagpipes in Molise? Birdwatching in Sardinia? A beautiful historical little town in Basilicata? The fantastic wines of Trentino Alto Adige? Or maybe the tour of how Italian traditions celebrate Easter all over Italy? That's all you will find in this issue of We the Italians magazine, and many more too! Besides this editorial and the interview to Thomas Gambino about Italians in Hawaii (beautiful stories there, don't miss it!), this issue has 20 columns!
We the Italians is organizing, together with a small group of dedicated professionals here in Rome, a wonderful event that will celebrate two great Italian Americans. On May 18 the great Tony Lo Bianco will bring his "Little Flower", the one man show about Fiorello La Guardia, here in Italy's capital city. We're honored, proud and happy about this wonderful event, another occasion for us to show to Italians who live in Italy why we have to learn from and be thankful to the Italian American community. Can't wait!!
Are you on Facebook? Did you know that our Facebook page has almost 20,000 likes? It is growing very good, but the more we'll be there, the better. So, would you like to be the 20,000th? Before to say goodbye, let me remind you the awesome opportunity given by the partnership between John Cabot University and We The Italian: two brand new Italian-American Heritage Scholarship. You can find the specifics in this previous editorial, or you can contact admissions@johncabot.edu for more information.
That's all for now. So stay tuned, fasten your seat belt and enjoy the ride. The future's so bright, we gotta wear shades!
