Projects: WE-women for expo. WE is an EXPO 2015 project carried out in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Fondazione Arnoldo e Alberto Mondadori. WE, Women for Expo is about nutrition and women. Each and every woman possesses a certain knowledge or tradition linked to food as well as an innate ability to "take care", not only of themselves but also of others.

Thanks to WE, women from participating countries will be invited to express their views on the nourishment of the body and nourishment of freedom and intelligence. The sustainability of the planet is expected to form a new alliance between food and cultures and it is women who will be the driving force behind this.

These women are artists, writers, personalities, and everyday real women. All of them can be part of WE (as the name suggests). A network of ideas, WE is for women all over the world. The initiative aims to involve women of every country, culture, profession and age. A simple and symbolic invitation to share the recipe for life. That is a recipe that has a personal story behind it.

Creativity and awareness of the future

WE – Women for Expo has four projects dedicated to building a path of awareness into the future, starting from different creative inspirations.

World Table - ll ambassadors of WE, Women for Expo including artists, scientists and representatives of civil societies/NGOs, charities and associations, on May 1, 2015 - the opening day of the Expo – will all sit around a table connected via TV and the internet. Each woman will bring her own dish to open the Expo Milano 2015 with a big party.

World Story - UA global tale made up of short stories, memories and emotions, all linked to food. This is a story written by different authors with the act of eating told through various narrative styles and perspectives, forming a collection for future generations.

Global Creativity Thinking - A multimedia and multi sensorial installation inspired by nutrition created by the female artists of WE-Women for Expo and that at the end of the event will be donated to the city of Milan.

Entrepreneurs - A special section dedicated to female entrepreneurs. In the current economic crisis, women are an emerging, dynamic class of leaders helping to bring to life a growing number of companies that focus particularly on agriculture and food, biodiversity, and protection of the environment. Some business models are to be considered as pilots, helping to identify best practices for a new way of organizing the world of production.

The Italian Pavilion, together with WE-Women for Expo, is offering women a real opportunity to lead change and fully sustainable development through two competitions especially for women:

WE - Projects By Women. This competition seeks female entrepreneurs and aspiring ones who have a project which, if given a chance, can make significant contribution to women's empowerment, innovation, environmental and economic sustainability. The goal is to make the female perspective central to the theme "Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life" and reward ideas that tackle relevant sectors, creatively and innovatively.

WE - Projects For Women. A competition that calls for projects that have significant consequences for the improvement of the quality of life for women.
