The fast success
Barbara Casasola began her academic career at Central Saint Martin and finished it - with honors - at the Istituto Marangoni in Milan. She had a working debut between Italy and Paris; as a mentor Gabrielle Greiss (ex creative director of Sonia Rykiel); and she participated to the final of "Who's on Next?" in 2012. Barbara Casasola is, of course, also very beautiful, and she was able to sell her clothes in over 25 countries in few years, hanging around with wholesale giants such as Harvey Nichols, Riyadh, Spiga 2 and online distributors including Moda Operandi, Avenue 32 and The Corner.
Guest designer for Pitti Uomo
A young and talented queen of fashion, minimalist and glamorous, she was inevitably crowned guest designer at the last edition of Pitti Uomo: "It is as if under the embers of a minimalist and romantic style, sometimes almost controlled, she's harboring a success desire - said Lapo Cianchi, communications director of the Florentin fair - Barbara Casasola is a young woman with a work experience in the major fashion houses. She is proud of her homeland, Brazil, and she chose to live and work in London, in a very competitive environment. She produces everything in Italy and obviously this is a reason for interest. We are convinced she's going to win a first line place in the international fashion woman and that's why we offered her the Pitti's scene".
The pre-collection FW'14
Barbara presented her pre fall '14, entitled "menswear for women" in a bright colors location in the heart of Florence: a capsule between gray and saturated colors, populated by monochromatic all-wool, silk and cady outfits, which has seen modeling with boxy and minimalist lines, gown coats and jumpsuits, further from the usual Casasola's wear but closer to an ordinary and sophisticated tailoring, strictly matched with mocassins by Manolo Blahnik. A contemporary and intimate show, during which sixteen mini films have been screened, ad hoc made in collaboration with SHOW Studio and interpreted by the muse Jamie Bochert. Small fragments of a private conversation, full of smoke, mirrors, loose words and no end. Stay tuned.
