Ciao from Rome! Welcome to the 65th issue of our online magazine. A few days ago I had the honor and pleasure of having an online video chat with my friend Edward Bevilacqua, publisher of Ciao Tutti. Ed is doing a fantastic job with Ciao Tutti and with the Italian American Club of Las Vegas. If you are interested in what Ed and I talked about, the video recording is here. Highly recommended!
We're very happy about the first response to our campaign with UVET, the number one Italian Tour Operator: we're offering you 8 different Italian beautiful experiences. Each one of them will bring you to Milan for a one day visit of Expo 2015, and thenyou will have eight different way of enjoying Italy. Take a look at http://www.madeinuvet.com/wetheitalians.cfm: you can choose between "The Great Beauty", "Healthy Time", "History Walk in Tuscany", "Chocolate Emotions", "Mediterranean Glamour", "Shooting in Val d'Orcia", "The Motor Valley" and "The pearls of Como Lake". Keep on browsing, the first Italians to take this very affordable offers are already coming to Italy!
We the Italians has a new representative in another American city, this time in Washington DC. Claudio Tanca is a young Italian who recently moved to DC, and he will be our man in the city where very important decisions are made. To reach him, just email at info@wetheitalians.com and we will connect with him.
After this issue, our online magazine will take a two weeks break. The website www.wetheitalians.com will continue promoting news about Italy, and so will our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/WeTheItalians; the magazine will come back with our 66th issue on August 24. I'll be in Tuscany and then in the Apennines mountains of Emilia Romagna, enjoying these parts of our beautiful country.
Waiting for your next real travel with us, in our 65th issue of this magazine we will drive you around Italy with our articles, wandering through different Italian regions. This time we'll visit Tropea, Calabria for its red onion flavors; Lecce, Puglia for its culture and history; Pompei, Campania for its art; Atrani, Campania as our "little Italy" of this issue; Guardiaregia-Campochiaro, Molise for its gardens; Perugia, Umbria for its handcrafted knitwear; Lido di Jesolo, Veneto for its land and nature; Padula, Campania and then Palermo, Sicilia for the story of Joe Petrosino, our Great Italian of the past; Padula, Campania is also where our IT and US story comes from; Alpignano, Piemonte for its tradition of the Palio dij Cossòt; Cortona, Toscana for its rosè wine; Roma, Lazio for the Studying (in) Italy column and then Milano, Lombardia for the Expo 2015 and its contents.
That's just a tiny preview of all you will find in this issue of We the Italians magazine!
Before to say goodbye, let me remind you the awesome opportunity given by the partnership between John Cabot University and We The Italians: two brand new Italian-American Heritage Scholarship. That's all for now. So stay tuned, fasten your seat belt and enjoy the ride. The future's so bright, we gotta wear shades!
