Ciao from the East Coast! Welcome to the 70th issue of our online magazine. We've been in New York, where we attended the Columbus Day Parade: a big wave of energy, Italian pride and passion of Italy that every year gives us an incredible strength and confirms to us that Italy and the US do wonderful things when they get together. 40,000 people marching, 1,000,000 watching the parade on the 5th avenue or by the TV: an amazing demonstration of love for our country!
From New York we moved to Washington DC, to honor the 40th NIAF Gala. We are particularly glad to all our friends at NIAF: you will find on this issue of We the Italians magazine, and only here online, the special about the 40 years of this fantastic institution. So, Viva Italia, viva the USA, and viva NIAF!!
Before to leave for the US we attended the annual presentation of the "Rapporto Italiani nel mondo" from Fondazione Migrantes: the most complete report about Italian emigration abroad. Did you know that in 2014 100,000 Italians emigrated? We're still a country that sends its citizens abroad. Hopefully, soon we'll tell you more about this very interesting report.
Last but not least, we know not only our Sicilian readers, but all who love this beautiful island, will appreciate the video you can watch at this link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LJzdf5es2ho Please enjoy it
Expo 2015 is having a huge success: an Italian success. It will end on October 31, so as always, we recommend you to take a look at our campaign with UVET, the number one Italian Tour Operator: we're offering you 8 different Italian beautiful experiences. Each one of them will bring you to Milan for a one day visit of Expo 2015, and then you will have eight different way of enjoying Italy. Take a look at http://www.madeinuvet.com/wetheitalians.cfm: you can choose between "The Great Beauty", "Healthy Time", "History Walk in Tuscany", "Chocolate Emotions", "Mediterranean Glamour", "Shooting in Val d'Orcia", "The Motor Valley" and "The pearls of Como Lake". Keep on browsing, the first Italians to take this very affordable offers are already coming to Italy!
Before to say goodbye, let me remind you the awesome opportunity given by the partnership between John Cabot University and We The Italians: two brand new Italian-American Heritage Scholarship. You can find the specifics in this previous editorial, or you can contact admissions@johncabot.edu for more information.
That's all for now. So stay tuned, fasten your seat belt and enjoy the ride. The future's so bright, we gotta wear shades!
