An Italian resident has reached out to Plumas News to help him find information about his relatives — former Sierra Valley residents. Francesco Mainetti is researching information about his grandfather, Cirillo Aili, (which could also be written as Arillo or Arello), and his grandfather’s brother, Joseph Aili. The men immigrated to Plumas County in May 1913, where they worked on a ranch in the Beckwourth area.
Francesco said his grandfather, Cirillo, returned to Italy in 1923, but Joseph lived in the Sierra Valley until his death in 1964, where is buried at the Vinton Cemetery. Francesco is trying to determine where they worked. You can email here.
