The Law Library of Congress will commemorate the 500th anniversary of the founding of the Jewish Ghetto of Venice with the program “Understanding Seclusion: the Legal Dimensions of the Ghetto”, which is in collaboration with the Embassy of Italy/Italian Cultural Institute, highlighting the early history of the segregated Jewish community in Venice and showcasing rare books and documents from Library of Congress collections related to the Jewish Ghetto of Venice.
