For half a century, the Kankakee County lodge of the Sons of Italy has been holding an annual fall spaghetti dinner. This year’s dinner, the 50th, will be held from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Bourbonnais site of the Bishop McNamara Catholic School system. For longtime residents, it is the hall at Maternity BVM school, 308 E. Marsile, Bourbonnais. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for youths 12 and younger.
Last year, the lodge served more than 400 dinners. People can dine at Maternity or take a meal home. About half of the people do that. The dinner is open to the community. You do not have to be a member to attend. All proceeds benefit charities.
