The Order Sons of Italy in America, Grand Lodge of Illinois and Wisconsin awarded its first Columbus Patriot Award to Thornton Township Supervisor Frank Zuccarelli at its 90th Columbus Day banquet on Oct. 11 at the Villa Brunetti in Franklin Park, Ill.

The Columbus Patriot Award demonstrates the American spirit of can do, where the individual's accomplishments epitomize what it means to be someone whose life has had a positive impact upon the lives of fellow Americans of all races and origins, according to a news release from Zuccarelli's office.
