Documentary to preserve memories of New Haven’s Wooster Square

Because Interstate 91 tore through Wooster Square in the 1960s, Frank Carrano can no longer stroll by the house and market at 460 Chapel St. where he grew up with his parents and six older sisters.

But Carrano has held his memories close and recently began sharing them in a Facebook group, “Wooster Square Neighborhood Heritage Exchange.” Meanwhile, Steve Hamm had moved to an apartment on the square, with a clear view of St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church, a Wooster Square landmark.
