The Hartford Columbus Day parade is planned for Sunday at 10:30 a.m. beginning at D&D Plaza at Franklin Avenue and Adelaide Street. The parade will travel south on Franklin Avenue and conclude at Columbus Park. The Italian American Celebration and Parade Committee, which is behind the city's Columbus Day observances, said the parade will include several groups from Italy and high school marching bands from Greater Hartford.
The celebration includes a banquet Saturday at 6:30 p.m. at Mt. Carmel Hall in East Hartford and an Italian Mass celebrated at Columbus Monument in Hartford's Columbus Park on Sunday at 9 a.m. On Monday at 11 a.m., a wreath dedication is planned at Columbus Monument.
