The 12th annual Southington Italian-American festival will be held July 29-31 this year on the lower portion of Center Street. The Sons of Italy, Southington UNICO, and the Chamber of Commerce once again will present this year's event with traditional festivities, along with some exciting new features.

Town Councilor Dawn Miceli described the festival as being fashioned after festivals in Italy. "We follow many of the same traditions- in terms of having it on a street, i.e., a street festival and including an outdoor mass."
