The annual Italian-American Festival, revived in 2004, is expected to draw thousands to downtown later this month. The three-day event, from July 24 to July 26, features Italian-American performers and music, Italian-American foods, a children's show, a magic show and an outdoor Mass at 10 a.m.
Sunday that ends with a procession of the statue of the Virgin Mary. "The procession is like the ones the villages in Italy would have on the annual feast of the town's patron saint," said Joseph LaPorte, the event's co-chairman.
