The Italian community has been an integral part of the Niagara Falls story for decades and among its major contributions are the culinary habits that earlier generations brought to this country.
That's spelled out in a new book "Buon Appetito," by the Italian Research Group of the Lewiston Public Library (252 pages, paperback, $20). It's packed with nostalgia, accurate anecdotes about Italian-American families in the restaurant business here and, of course, some favorite recipes from local families whose businesses have consistently rated "the best restaurants" list.
