The Italian Cultural Foundation at Casa Belvedere invites you to "Daughters, Dads and the Path through Grief: Tales from Italian America" with Author, Lorraine Mangione, PhD

Please join us for a presentation of this interesting and distinctive book which is based on interviews with Italian American women, mostly in the Northeast, who have lost their fathers. It covers the whole trajectory of the relationship from childhood until after the father's death.

The work relates to men as fathers as well as women as daughters. Several of the women whose stories animate the book are from the New York City area.

The authors have developed a unique resource for understanding and acknowledging the father-daughter relationship and the grief that follows the father's death, along with the strength of Italian American culture that frames the love and the loss. Dr. Mangione will speak not only about her own story, but also the stories of Italian American women from many walks of life.
