From pizza and sliders to performances of traditional music, there were plenty staples of Italy at the Italian festival held at the Market Common this past weekend. Officially called Festa Italiana, the event took place on Saturday and Sunday, costing only a dollar to attend, and featuring authentic Italian food and entertainment with plenty more activities on deck.
The festival is now held twice a year, once in the summer and again in the fall. “This is the 25th year of the festival and our 25th anniversary,” said Frank Baldari, vice president of Sons and Daughters of Italy Myrtle Beach Lodge 2662, who puts on the event.
