Professor Zagarella is the Language Courses Coordinator at Portland State University and teaches beginning, intermediate and advanced Italian. Her areas of interests are language teaching pedagogy, Italian culture and civilization, contemporary literature and Mediterranean Studies. Her current research focuses on literature of migration and national identity in Italian and Italophone literature.
