It took off Saturday, June 8, at 5 p.m. from New York's JFK Airport and landed Sunday morning at 7:20 a.m. in Palermo, the first direct flight operated by Neos airline, which departed for the Big Apple at 11:25 a.m., arriving on the other side of the Atlantic at 2:50 p.m.

In addition to these schedules, the 355-seat Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner will take off every Monday at 5 p.m. from New York to arrive at Falcone e Borsellino on Tuesday at 7:20 a.m. and depart at 11:25 a.m. and be in New York at 2:50 p.m., thus offering the market an air capacity of 710 seats per week.

This is the only flight from Sicily to the United States that will be active for the entire summer season and will be reconfirmed for next year with the introduction of one more frequency, for a total of 3 per week, representing an important opportunity for the largest island in the Mediterranean, in terms of both outgoing and incoming traffic, not to mention the high number of compatriots residing right in the Big Apple.
