Your fork will be doing pirouettes in this new plate of pasta. In honor of American Ballet Theatre's new season, which kicked off on May 15th at the Metropolitan Opera House, nearby restaurant Quality Italian has created a dish inspired by one dancer's favorite food: Pasta. Principal Isabella Boylston, who happens to be the youngest principal in the company, eats pasta "almost every day," including before performances.
"I eat pasta before the shows because I usually get quite nervous and I find that it's one of the most palatable foods," Boylston said. "It's also a great energy source and easily digestible." Boylston enjoys pretty much any kind of pasta, naming carbonara, bolognese and mac and cheese as some of her top pasta picks, though Bucatini alla Amatriciana stands out as one of her favorites.
