The Albert J. Solnit Children's Center has been in desperate need of toys for its teenagers and local restaurant Amici Italian Grill has stepped in to help. Formerly the Riverview Hospital for Children and Youth, Solnit's holiday gifts to their patients are solely based on donations.
Solnit serves around 70 kids during the holidays, many of which come in with almost nothing. The center is a publicly operated psychiatric hospital managed by the Connecticut Department of Children and Families, and houses kids age 13 to 18 who might be experiencing emotional or behavioral issues.
