And this year's inductees to the Arizona Culinary Hall of Fame are...... Gio Osso of Virtu Honest Craft for Chef of the Year. Osso, who's known for his modern Italian cuisine, beat out an illustrious group that included Charleen Badman of FnB, Mel Mecinas of Four Seasons Resort Scottsdale at Troon North, and Justin Beckett of Beckett's Table and Southern Rail.
While accepting the honor Monday night at the 24th annual awards ceremony at LiveWire in Scottsdale, Osso, a James Beard Award nominated chef, thanked his wife and 1-year-old son for their support. Sam Fox, who oversees 44 restaurants in eight states for Fox Restaurant Concepts, won Restaurateur of the Year.
