Thanks to big retailers, specialty kitchen shops have become rare in the modern market but Diana Gasperetti is keeping the tradition alive and well with Gasperetti's located at 2805 Bridgeport Way. Long time residents of University Place may recognize the name, as Gasperetti and her husband ran the shop through the 90's before shutting down.
But after retirement, they found that they missed the feel of running a business so the South Sound's premier kitchen shop has returned, offering tools and ingredients for everything classic in Italian cooking. "We've been through Freighthouse square, Lakewood and 6th Avenue," Gasperetti said.
