Carte Italiane Vol. 11 Call for Book Reviews

Dec 21, 2015 820

Dear all, please see the following Call for Book Reviews by Carte Italiane, the journal of the Department of Italian at UCLA. In addition to our upcoming issue dedicated to how conflicts and wars have shaped Italian identities, Carte Italiane will also feature a section of Book Reviews. Not only do we believe in up-to-date and thorough scholarship in the field of Italian Studies, but we also understand the importance of increasing the visibility of all valuable literary works, not just the classics and/or canonized works.

Including book reviews in our future issue will allow readers to learn about recent publications and inquiries in Italian Studies and beyond. We welcome Book Reviews in English and in Italian on recent books of Italian prose, Italian poetry, and literary criticism pertaining to Italian literature and cinema. Other possible venues of interest include: Art History, Classics, Comparative Literature, Environmental Studies, Film and Media Studies, Gender Studies, Geography, History, Linguistics, Migration Studies, Musicology, Philosophy, Political Science, Sociology, and Translation Studies.

Book Reviews must clearly state the book's author, title, publishing house, place and year of publication, and number of pages. Reviews must also be accompanied by a short biographical statement about the author of the review short biographical statement. Please send Reviews and biographical statements to carteitaliane@gmail.com.

All submissions must follow the updated formatting guidelines found on Carte Italiane's escholarship page (from the menu on the left side of the page.) To check the guidelines, log onto http://www.escholarship.org/uc/italian_ucla_carteitaliane.
