
When: Thursday, March 12, 2020 From 6:00 pm To 8:00 pm - Where: Rizzoli Bookstore, 1133 Broadway, NYC - What: Exile and Creativity is a collection of essays from a program held in 2017-18 at the Italian Cultural Institute, in collaboration with Centro Primo Levi.
The essays examine the lives of Italian scientists, intellectuals, artists, professors who were forced to leave Italy, or chose exile, during the Fascist era, including Enrico Fermi, Mario Castelnuovo Tedesco, Arturo Toscanini, Nicola Chiaromonte, Renato Poggioli, Paolo Milano, Franco Modigliani, Amelia Rosselli and Amelia Rosselli, Corrado Cagli and Lucio Fontana, and Costantino Nivola.
