Some of the city’s buzziest restaurants are giving new meaning to the word fashionable: On Monday, style icon Giorgio Armani opened an updated version of his restaurant within his new 12-story limestone flagship at 760 Madison Avenue. (The first NY location opened in 2009 at 717 Fifth Avenue, which will soon become the new destination for Gucci.) This is also home to the Armani boutiques and luxe eight-figure condos.
The restaurant opens on the heels of the debut of Louis Vuitton’s first U.S. cafe led by Stephen Starr and French toque Christophe Bellanca — a restaurant with golden doors at the entrance, an oversized giraffe sculpture, and signature trunks stacked to the ceiling, heralding its arrival on 57th Street, a stone’s throw from Ralph Lauren’s Polo Bar and L’Avenue at Saks.
