
Two longtime Norwich community figures, Deanna (Leone) Rhodes and Josh Vocatura, are set to be honored at the Italian Heritage and Cultural Committee’s Italian of the Year Banquet, planned for 5:30 p.m. Oct. 10 at the Holiday Inn Norwich, according to a community announcement.
The Heritage & Cultural Committee lists the following requirements for individuals named Italian of the Year: a person of Italian descent who through their efforts has contributed to the progress and betterment of the community; a person who has demonstrated an understanding and belief in Italian culture and heritage; a person who has served the Italian community through deeds and action; a person who has the respect of the Italian community because of their continuing efforts on behalf of Italians and Italian projects in the community and who lives in the greater Norwich area.
