
St. John's Volleyball Head Coach Joanne Persico will be enshrined into the Order of Sons & Daughters of Italy in America (OSDIA) Sports Hall of Fame on Friday, August 15 at the organization's national convention in Orlando, FL. The longtime leader of the Red Storm volleyball program joins a decorated list of past winners including St. John's Men's Basketball Head Coach Rick Pitino (2001) and the legendary Lou Carnesecca (1989).
She becomes the first-ever volleyball coach to be presented with the accolade and joins sporting icons 13-time World Series Champion Yogi Berra, U.S. Men's Ice Hockey Captain of the "Miracle on Ice" Mike Eruzione, 12-time NCAA Champion Geno Auriemma and many more as winners of the OSDIA Sports Award.
