Capone's Italian Eatery has opened in Penfield. The restaurant, located at 1811 Penfield Road, serves specialty pizza, cold and hot subs, pasta, salads and homemade Italian desserts, including carrot cake and cheesecake. The 1,100-square-foot business is part pizzeria and Italian eatery and part deli, said owner Bryan Dezio, a Penfield native who now lives in Wayne County.
It's also a nod to Dezio's father - Greg Dezio - who died in December and always wanted to operate a pizzeria or sandwich shop. "It was his dream," Bryan Dezio said of his father, 64, who "loved to cook and everything about food." In addition to prepared breakfast, lunch and dinner, Capone's will offer deli meats by the pound and cold sides such as antipasti and macaroni salad.
